Grief Books & Grief Support

Lakeside Memoria Funeral Home offers a very unique grief support service to all of our families that we care for. A toll free number is provided to each family that has a certified counselor on the other end to provide a comforting ear to someone who is struggling with the loss of their loved one. Any family member or friend can use this service at no charge.

Along with the grief support line, we mail a series of 4 grief books to each family over the cours of a year. The first book comes at 1 month and discusses the period when the busyness of the funeral is over and it is time to reflect on the loss in private. The second book arrives at 3 months and covers how grief affects people individually. The third book is available at 6 months and goes over how grief affects how the whole family interacts. The final and fourth book comes at 11 months. Many times the anticipation of the anniversary of the death is much more emotional and stressful than the actual day.

We feel that our services should not end the day of the funeral, so we use this tool to help stay in touch and continue to help our families through their grief.
